Are you a rising 9th or 10th grader in South Bend? Do you dream of a career in healthcare? GEAR UP South Bend! is excited to partner with Indiana University South Bend (@iusouthbend) to bring you an unforgettable opportunity: the Summer Healthcare Exploration Camp! This one-day immersive experience is designed to give students a firsthand look into the diverse world of healthcare professions available at IUSB. Imagine spending a day exploring the life-changing careers of nursing, radiography, medical laboratory science, health science, dental hygiene, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. Each profession offers unique ways to make a significant impact on people's lives, and this camp will give you a glimpse of what it takes to enter these rewarding fields.
What to Expect:
Interactive Learning: Engage in educational activities that provide a deep dive into each health profession. Learn about the daily responsibilities, required skills, and the educational pathways to each career.
Hands-On Experience: Participate in practical demonstrations and interactive sessions that bring each profession to life. Discover the tools, techniques, and technologies used by healthcare professionals.
Collaborative Insights: Understand the importance of interprofessional collaboration. Learn how healthcare teams work together to help patients recover and lead healthier lives.
Camp Dates:
August 1: For rising 9th graders, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
August 2: For rising 10th graders, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
